This timely seminar focuses on steps that can be taken to support UK education providers competing in global markets - as a destination of choice for Further and Higher Education students, and in the supply of educational resources and services. It will be an opportunity to discuss proposals in the Government's new International Education Strategy, Global Growth and Prosperity, and also follows the establishment of Education UK, the new body designed to promote education exports.

The conference will bring together key policymakers from across Government and the relevant regulatory bodies with universities, colleges, independent schools, student representatives, providers of education services and the online learning sector.

They will consider the current global state of the UK's education exports and examine the proposals contained in the strategy. Delegates will also discuss how to exploit the potential of UK educational expertise and services to boost exports, along with sessions on the attractiveness of the UK as a place to study and the challenges for maintaining the growth in international student numbers in an increasingly competitive global market. Delegates will also discuss the opportunities for UK universities presented by the development of transnational education (TNE) including the creation of overseas campuses, franchise agreements and degree validation as well as the steps the UK can take to meet the Government's aim of the UK being a market-leader in the rapidly developing online learning sector.
